Like most places with their own distinctive character, words can never genuinely describe the charisma of Hotel Tikar. The azure and white facade of a typical Mediterranean hotel almost betray the traveller of the pleasant secret that is hidden within. However the moment the door swings open and you discover the brilliant combinations of blues, ochres and yellows on the Italian textured walls you realise this hotel is far from typical.

It is a special place. Come stay to see the constantly changing art exhibitions, settle into an overstuffed sofa in the bar next to the fireplace, sit on one of Restaurante Azul's teak chairs, taste a traditional Spanish or New World wine, smell the jasmine-rose-honeysuckle medley in the garden or listen to the waves breaking on the seashore from the rooftop terrace on a moonlit night.

Accommodation

Each of our six suites are uniquely designed and decorated with separate sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. All feature individual air conditioning units, heating, television, built in closets, electric beds, wall safes and hair dryers. Additionally we offer complimentary 24-hour room service.

Dining Facilities

In the quiet peaceful setting of Restaurante Azul you are surrounded with original paintings by some of the best local artist while you are savouring the selective cuisine and discovering wines from around the world in our international bodega.

Breakfast is available whenever you please. We do not have set breakfast hours. The continental comes with your choice of coffee, tea or chocolate; fresh squeezed orange juice or peach juice; and toast, either rolls or sliced. The complete offers the same choices as the continental with the addition of cereal or muesli, yogurt, ham and cheese or fresh fruit. You may have breakfast in the Art Gallery, in the Garden or brought to your room, wherever you please.

Starting with the Full Moon on the 6th of June Restaurante Azul will begin to offer romantic dinners. Couples and friends will be able to enjoy quiet meals while listening to the soft tunes of a jazz guitar. Dinners and jazz will continue every Thursday night throughout the year.

Swimming Pool

Lay on one of the lounge chairs on our rooftop Terraza Solarium and work on your tan. And, after an hour of sunbathing is there anything more refreshing than wading under the waterfall of the swimming pool and letting the water cascade down around you?

Local Attractions

The sun-baked Almeria province is located in the far south-eastern corner of the Iberian peninsula is this sun-baked province, with the highest hours of sunshine and lowest rainfall in Europe. Much of the province is comprised of semi-arid desert-like landscape. A stunning coastline, soaring mountains and hidden valleys make this a wonderful place to explore, so hire a car and get out there to experience this unique part of Spain.

Other Information

In the front of the hotel you will discover our small art gallery. On the first Sunday of each month we inaugurate our latest art exhibition and host a wine tasting. The exhibitions display the works of some of the best local artists and the wine tastings feature some of the best Spanish wines.

Accessibility

Our hotel is entirely accessible for our disabled clients. From the reception, to the restaurant, to the art gallery, to the salon bar and out to the garden there are no steps. In the suites, all of the doors are extra wide, the beds are motorized, and there are roll-in showers. The lift also leads to the rooftop Terraza/Bar where you can have a drink and enjoy the Mediterranean views.

The streets of Garrucha are narrow and uneven. Assistance may therefore be required for guests with restricted mobility. The seafront however, is long and flat once reached.
